My Top 5 Favorite Food Blogs

As you may have noticed, my blog these days has steered itself towards mostly food. There's really no controlling this so you should probably just embrace it now. When I first started, I found myself following a bunch of beauty and fashion bloggers since that is more the direction that I saw my blog going in.

Every morning while I'm trying to convince myself to get out of bed, I pull up Bloglovin' and start going through all of the new posts for the day. Fairly early on I found myself instantly marking most of the beauty and fashion blogs as read (ya know, without actually opening them and reading them) and leaving nothing behind to read later besides the food blogs. The only exception to this being all the sweet blogger friends I've made over the months. I'll read whatever y'all write about ;)

There's something that you should really know about me as a (food) blogger. And this is being brutally honest: I don't really like to cook or bake all that much. For me, it's really more about the photography and capturing the beauty of the food. Is that weird? Don't get me wrong, I DO enjoy cooking a good meal but at the end of the day, my heart's really in the photography of it.

And with all of that being said, I wanted to share with you my....

1. Joy the Baker
This is the blog that first made me fall in love with food photography and blogs. Joy has a way of writing, photographing, and talking about food that makes me read her blog as if it's a book I just can't put down. I look forward to her posts everyday and they pretty much never let me down. She's an inspiration to me as a food blogger and as a person. AND she has a Cookbook my blog these days has steered itself towards mostly food My Top 5 Favorite Food Blogs That's legit.

Here are a few of my favorite recipes from her blog:
Watermelon Strawberry Citrus Sangria (because this sounds REALLY good right now)
Roasted Squash and Mushroom Tarts
Fresh Cranberry and Meyer Lemon Biscuits:
And if you don't already love her by now, maybe this ADORABLE video collaboration with Nordstrom will do it:

2. Minimalist Baker
The Minimalist Baker has THE BEST food photography, IMO. All of their images are super simple but still so lovely. It's some serious food porn. If you're into that kind of thing. Case in point:

7 Ingredient Vegan Cheesecake
If you're into this kind of thing, the Minimalist Baker also has a WONDERFUL Food Photography E-Course that you should definitely check out. I bought it a while back and I really feel like it improved my photography all around (not just of food).

3. Love & Olive Oil
This is a somewhat new blog to me. It wasn't until I had been following the blog for several months that I realized the authors of this blog are also from NASHVILLE! Being a Nashville native, I was overly excited about this fact and instantly liked them even more. A few great recipes:

Strawberry Jam Toaster Pastries
Watermelon Strawberry Citrus Sangria (because this sounds REALLY good right now)
Roasted Squash and Mushroom Tarts
Fresh Cranberry and Meyer Lemon Biscuits:

Goat Cheese and Avocado Toast

4. Tasty Yummies
This is another great blog with a lot of character. I like when food blogs have a great combination of beautiful images, engaging writing, and unique recipes. She has a lot of fun tutorials and some great recipes (and awesome photography, of course!). They're mostly all light, healthy recipes too so if you're preparing yourself for bikini season, check this blog out!

How to Make Homemade Nut Butters
Iced Dirty Chai Almond Milk Latte
Spring Green Salad with Honey Dijon Almond Butter Dressing

5. Shugary Sweets
You'll notice that there's a bit of a demam isu here: most of my favorite blogs seem to blog about SWEET recipes. I think a lot of this is due to the fact that, as I already pointed out, I'm mostly drawn to the photography and the truth is that baked goods are just the prettiest in pictures. Case in point from the Shugary Sweets blog:

Peanut Butter Mouse Pie
Cranberry Pistachio Cookie Bars
Chocolate Hazelnut Tart with Chocolate Mouse

So there you have it: My top 5 favorite food blogs. I hope you enjoyed this and found some new food blogs to follow.
